StoryCorps founder Dave Isay is coming to Chicago.
With the release of StoryCorps’ fifth book, Callings: The Purpose and Passion of Work, the StoryCorps book tour is winding its way across the country, and great news, there’s a stop scheduled in Chicago.
On Sunday, May 15, 2016, at 2:15 PM, WBEZ and StoryCorps invite you to join Dave at the Chicago Humanities Festival (610 South Michigan Ave) for an evening of conversation with fellow MacArthur Fellow Camilo José Vergara.
Tickets for this event are $15.00 (public), $10.00 (members), and $5.00 (students and teachers) and can be purchased here.
On store bookshelves today, Callings is a collection of more than 50 conversations from the StoryCorps archive that highlight real people sharing their stories of finding the work they were born to do. It is full of inspiring first-person pieces that will resonate with anyone at any stage of their work life. Whether you’ve spent years employed, or are just beginning to think about what career you would like to pursue, Callings offers boundless wisdom and advice from a diverse group of people who have, through hard work and thoughtfulness, found their calling.
